The Polycom VVX 311 is an entry-level 6-line SIP business media phone that builds on its predecessor, the VVX 310, with double the memory and a 60% increase in CPU clock speed for snappier performance. It features two Gigabit Ethernet ports and supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing it to draw power directly from a network switch without a separate AC adapter.

Designed for shared areas, dorm rooms, wall-mounted installations, cubicles, and office desks, the VVX 311 includes a 208 x 104 pixel backlit graphical LCD display for clear visibility. Polycom HD Voice technology delivers up to 7 kHz audio across all audio paths—speakerphone, handset, and headset—ensuring crisp, natural conversations.

Two 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports: one for LAN uplink, one for daisy-chaining a PC. PoE (IEEE 802.3af) support for power and data over a single cable.

AC adapter sold separately. SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) compatibility with major IP PBX systems and cloud telephony services.

Dedicated RJ-9 headset port with electronic hookswitch support for hands-free operation. * Supports up to three VVX Expansion Modules (color or monochrome) for additional line capacity.

The package includes the phone base, handset, handset cord, Ethernet cable, and stand; the AC power adapter is not included. Small to medium office deployments: Six-line support and HD voice make it ideal for managing internal and external calls efficiently.

Overkill for single-line personal use. Reception desks and call centers: Expansion modules allow scaling line capacity for multiple operators, though large centers with high concurrency may need a more advanced model.

Remote work and home offices: PoE simplifies setup in home networks, but SIP server configuration may challenge non-technical users. Educational institutions and hospitality: Wall-mountable and durable for shared spaces, but lacks video conferencing capabilities—consider a video phone if that is a primary need.
