This article covers バッファロー USBハブ USB3.0 セルフパワー 4ポートハブ ブラック BSH4A125U3BK.

Overview

The Buffalo BSH4A125U3BK is a self-powered USB 3.0 hub with four ports, designed to expand the connectivity of Windows PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, game consoles, and tablets equipped with USB Type-A ports. Its self-powered design ensures stable operation even for power-hungry devices like external hard drives or smartphones being charged.
The hub features a 3+1 port layout, with three ports facing upward and one on the side, so bulky connectors won't block adjacent ports. It also includes an LED indicator for power status and a permanently attached cable, eliminating the risk of losing it. With a focus on heat and overvoltage protection, this hub is built for reliable long-term use.

Connectivity & Compatibility

The BSH4A125U3BK supports USB 3.2 (Gen 1), USB 3.1 (Gen 1), and USB 3.0 Type-A connections, and it is backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices. It works with a wide range of devices, including Windows PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, game consoles, and tablets.
Because it is self-powered, it can deliver stable power to devices that require more current than a bus-powered hub can provide, such as external hard drives or smartphones. The attached cable means you don't need to carry a separate USB cable, making it convenient for travel or desk setups.

Product Info

Released on October 25, 2018, this hub sits in the entry-level tier of the market. It offers a practical four-port configuration with self-powered stability at an affordable price, making it an accessible choice for first-time hub buyers or those who need a reliable expansion solution without extra features.

Best Use Cases

  • Users who connect multiple external hard drives or SSDs at their desk: the self-powered design prevents power-related disconnections, ensuring stable operation. Not ideal for those who prioritize portability.
  • Laptop owners with limited USB ports who need to plug in a mouse, keyboard, and USB flash drives simultaneously: the 3+1 layout minimizes port blocking, and it also works well with game consoles or tablets.
  • People who want to charge their smartphone or tablet while using it at a desk: the stable power delivery is safer than bus-powered alternatives, though an AC outlet is required for the adapter.
