Product Info

The IHAS324-17 is an entry-level to mid-range internal optical drive from LITEON. Originally released around the Windows 8 era (2012), it remains available through online retailers at a price of around ¥3,300. The warranty period is one year. Best Use Cases

  • Users looking to replace an aging optical drive in a desktop PC: The SATA interface and wide OS support make it a straightforward swap for most systems, especially those running older operating systems like Windows XP or Linux.
  • Those who need occasional CD/DVD reading or writing for data archiving or media playback: It handles common disc formats reliably at a low cost. However, it does not support Blu-ray discs.
  • Budget-conscious DIY PC builders: At around ¥3,300, it provides essential optical drive functionality without breaking the bank. Note that official driver support for Windows 10/11 is not provided, so compatibility should be verified.
  • System administrators or users of legacy software: Useful for booting from optical media or reading installation discs for older applications.
