Overview
Draftfall is a single-player indie title from developer and publisher JJ Battlelokit, released on October 28, 2026. It blends auto-battler combat with deckbuilding and roguelite progression, all wrapped in a 2D anime-inspired presentation.
The story follows Jake, a conscript who drowns saving a stranger from a frozen lake, only to wake up in Levona—a ruined village losing a war against the Demon Lord. Unable to return home, he fights for the people who took him in, and the game tasks you with rebuilding the village while liberating the continent.
Highlights
- Draft-Based Deckbuilding: Between waves, you choose one card from six options. Each pick alters how the next fight unfolds, and stacking cards strengthens them, allowing you to match them to your weapon's affinity and watch your build come together.
- 90 Cards and Nine Affinities: The card pool spans Common to Legendary rarity, covering affinities like Attack, Defense, Fire, Ice, Lightning, Poison, Wind, Healing, and Toughness. You can burn, chill, shock, or poison entire enemy packs, or become too tough to kill.
- Automatic Combat with Strategic Depth: Combat is automatic, but your draft decisions determine the outcome. The game supports mouse-only play and has partial controller support, plus Steam Achievements.
Who It's For
Draftfall is ideal for fans of roguelite deckbuilders and auto-battlers who enjoy strategic card selection over real-time reflexes. The anime art style and the village-rebuilding narrative add a layer of progression beyond combat, appealing to players who like a sense of purpose in their runs.
If you enjoy games where every pick matters and builds can spiral into powerful synergies, this is worth a look.
