Overview

The CORSAIR K70 RGB TKL CHAMPION SERIES (CH-9119014-NA) is a compact tenkeyless mechanical gaming keyboard built for competitive play. It features Cherry MX Speed switches with a 1.2mm actuation point and low actuation force, delivering near-instantaneous keystroke registration essential for fast-paced FPS and MOBA titles. The anodized aluminum frame provides rigid stability, while the PBT keycaps resist shine and wear over long use.
Thanks to per-key RGB backlighting controlled via CORSAIR iCUE software, you can create custom lighting profiles, macro assignments, and real-time temperature or audio visualizations. The keyboard also includes a dedicated volume roller, media keys, and a detachable USB-C cable for easy transport and cable management.

Connectivity & Compatibility

The keyboard connects via a detachable USB-C to USB-A cable (approximately 1.8m). It is compatible with Windows, macOS, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and other USB-based platforms. Full iCUE functionality requires Windows; on macOS and consoles, the keyboard operates in default mode with basic LED effects. It supports 100% anti-ghosting and N-key rollover over USB, ensuring every simultaneous keypress is registered accurately.
The compact TKL layout (87 keys) saves approximately 20cm in width compared to full-size keyboards, making it ideal for smaller desks or laptop setups. The detachable USB-C cable allows easy replacement or customization with third-party cables.

Product Info

Released in 2021, the K70 RGB TKL sits in the mid-high range of CORSAIR's keyboard lineup. It offers premium features like Cherry MX Speed switches, per-key RGB, and a sturdy aluminum frame at a lower price point than the full-size K70 RGB by omitting the numpad. The keyboard comes with a 2-year warranty. Accessories include a detachable USB-C cable, keycap puller, textured spacebar replacement, and quick-start guide. It is widely available from online retailers and major electronics retailers.

Best Use Cases

  • Competitive gamers (FPS, MOBA, RTS): Cherry MX Speed switches give a distinct advantage in reaction-sensitive games thanks to their short travel and rapid reset. The TKL form factor leaves extra room for mouse movement, reducing arm strain during long sessions.
  • Users with limited desk space: Those using a small desk or pairing the keyboard with a laptop will appreciate the reduced width. The detachable cable also makes it easy to pack for LAN parties or tournaments.
  • Mechanical keyboard newcomers seeking speed: If you're moving from membrane keyboards and want a responsive, linear switch for gaming, the K70 RGB TKL is a solid choice. However, if you require a tactile typing experience or heavy keypress feel, consider a keyboard with Cherry MX Brown or Blue switches instead.
