Overview

The ELECOM V-custom VK200S (TK-VK200SBK) is a wired 65% mechanical keyboard built specifically for fast-paced shooter games. Its compact layout frees up desk space for mouse movement, while the silver linear switches deliver a shallow, quick actuation that suits rapid key inputs.
ELECOM developed the S.P.S Engine for Keyboard to improve response speed, claiming roughly 55% faster response compared to their earlier models. The Neo-Clutch keycaps, refined through multiple prototypes with pro player input, are shaped to grip the fingers slightly while still releasing cleanly, which helps reduce missed inputs during intense play.

Connectivity & Compatibility

The keyboard connects via a wired USB interface, eliminating concerns about wireless latency or battery life during gaming sessions. The 65% layout omits the numpad and some function keys, but retains the essential keys for most games, making it a practical choice for users who want a compact board without losing core functionality.
Because of its reduced width, the VK200S fits well on smaller desks or alongside a laptop setup. The silver linear switches are designed for speed, with a shorter travel distance to actuation, which benefits players who need to chain keystrokes quickly.

Product Info

The TK-VK200SBK launched in September 2022 as part of ELECOM's V-custom gaming series, positioned as a high-tier option that aims to serve both professional and entry-level players. The focus is not only on measurable performance but also on the tactile feel of the keys and overall usability.
Its price point sits in the accessible mid-range for gaming keyboards, offering a compact 65% form factor and fast response features without reaching premium flagship pricing.

Best Use Cases

  • Competitive FPS and TPS players who need fast, accurate keystrokes: the silver linear switches and response engine are tuned for rapid input. Not ideal for users who rely heavily on a numpad for data entry.
  • Gamers with limited desk space who want more room for mouse movement: the compact 65% size leaves extra surface area for a large mousepad. Users accustomed to full-size keyboards may need time to adjust.
  • Players who care about keycap feel and stability: the Neo-Clutch keycaps provide a secure grip while allowing clean release, reducing misclicks during long sessions. Those who prioritize near-silent typing may find the linear switch sound noticeable.
