Overview

The Redragon M988STORM Elite is a wired gaming mouse that weighs just 85 grams, thanks to its honeycomb shell design. Its optical sensor reaches up to 12,400 DPI, making it a strong contender for fast-paced shooters and battle royale titles. The all-white chassis gives your setup a clean aesthetic, while addressable RGB lighting adds a customizable glow.
Positioned as an entry-to-mid-level gaming mouse, the M988STORM Elite offers excellent value for gamers who want a lightweight pointer without breaking the bank. It connects via a standard USB-A cable and works plug-and-play on Windows, macOS, and Linux—no extra software required for basic use.

Connectivity & Compatibility

The M988STORM Elite is a wired mouse only. It uses a USB-A connector, so any desktop or laptop with a free USB port can use it immediately. It is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux out of the box.
However, there is no wireless or Bluetooth support. If you prefer a cable-free desk or need low-latency wireless, this is not the mouse for you. The 1.8-meter braided cable (approximate) provides enough length for most setups, but you will need to manage the wire on your desk.

Product Info

Redragon’s M988STORM Elite sits in the entry-to-mid-range tier of gaming mice. Its 85-gram weight is well-suited for long gaming sessions, and the honeycomb design improves airflow and grip. The sensor tops out at 12,400 DPI, adjustable via the DPI button on top.
Accessories in the box include the mouse itself and a quick-start guide. Warranty is typically one year (check local regulations). Pricing hovers around ¥9,700 on Japanese online retailers, and you can also find it on other major online retailers. The white color variant complements white-themed PC builds nicely.

Best Use Cases

  • Competitive FPS players: The light weight and high DPI range give you an edge in games like Valorant, Apex Legends, and Overwatch 2. Wired connectivity means no latency worries.
  • First-time gaming mouse buyers: If you are moving from a basic office mouse, this offers a clear upgrade in performance and aesthetics at a reasonable price. The RGB lighting is a fun bonus.
  • White PC builders: The white shell matches white components and peripherals, creating a cohesive look. It is an easy way to keep your desk color-coordinated.
That said, this mouse is not ideal if you need silent clicks, a large number of programmable buttons, or an extremely large form factor. For those requirements, consider a different model.
