Overview

MALEBOLGE is a first-person action-adventure that adapts Dante's Inferno with unsettling fidelity. Developed by Calderazzo and published by BisteccaGames, it launched on Steam on October 30, 2026.

The game walks you through all nine circles of Hell, from the dark wood to the frozen lake at the bottom, with every location drawn directly from the poem. Nothing has been invented to stitch the journey together—this is the Inferno as Dante wrote it, rendered in interactive form.

Highlights

  • Faithful to the source: Every area corresponds to a place in the poem, and the punishments are shown as described—devils cutting souls open, traitors gnawing skulls, and a river of boiling blood.
  • Living-body stealth: You play as Dante, alive in the body, carrying an oil lamp because the dead have no use for light. Enemies track you by weight, breath, warmth, and moved air, so standing still in the wrong place gets you caught, while moving well lets you slip past.
  • Six chapters, nine circles: The descent is structured as a funnel, and the deeper you go, the heavier the sin. The game supports full controller input and includes Steam Achievements.

Who It's For

If you're a fan of literary horror, psychological tension, or stealth-based exploration, MALEBOLGE will appeal to you. It's not a fast-paced action game—it's a slow, deliberate crawl through a nightmare, where every step could betray your presence.

The game is available in English, Italian, French, German, and Spanish, and it's a single-player experience through and through.
