Overview

Cliax Codec, developed and published by Cliax Games, is a single-player action-adventure shooter that launched on Steam on October 13, 2026. The game centers on the Cliax Crystal, a powerful gemstone that could throw the world into chaos if it falls into the wrong hands.

As a member of the Cliax Coalition, your mission is to protect it at all costs.

What sets Cliax Codec apart is its dynamic perspective system. You'll frequently switch between a top-down view and a third-person view, and each perspective offers different gameplay possibilities.

This isn't just a visual gimmick—it's the core mechanic that shapes how you approach combat and exploration.

Highlights

  • Dual-Perspective Gameplay: Switch between top-down and third-person views in designated areas. Top-down lets you face large enemy hordes in arcade-style bullet hell combat, while third-person enables vertical exploration and jumping.
  • Action-Adventure Blend: The game combines fast-paced shooting with puzzle-solving, offering a mix of combat and cerebral challenges.
  • Full Controller Support: With full controller support, including DualShock controllers, you can enjoy the game with your preferred input method. Steam Achievements add extra goals for completionists.

Who It's For

Cliax Codec is ideal for players who enjoy action games with a twist. If you like the intensity of top-down shooters but also appreciate the freedom of third-person exploration, this game's perspective-switching mechanic will keep you on your toes.

It's also a good fit for fans of sci-fi settings, robot enemies, and puzzle-solving within an action framework. The arcade-style bullet hell segments will appeal to those who relish dodging dense enemy fire, while the vertical exploration in third-person mode offers a different kind of challenge.
