Overview

Welcome to your first day at the Department of Scheduled Catastrophes. You wanted coffee.

Instead, you authorized the end of the world. That's the premise of Apocalypse Intern, a compact workplace-comedy visual novel from developer and publisher WizardHistory.

Released on October 9, 2026, this indie title drops you into a surreal government office where the apocalypse is just another bureaucratic process.

With only twenty minutes left on the universal countdown, you'll need to cross the office, collect three approvals, recover the legendary Form 0-B, and find a supervisor whose lunch break is protected by regulation. It's a race against time, but one played at your own pace—the game supports mouse-only controls and has no timed input, so you can savor every absurd conversation.

Highlights

  • Compact storytelling: Designed for roughly 20 minutes per playthrough, making it perfect for a lunch break or a quick evening session.
  • Meaningful choices: Six decisions that change time, approvals, and the office around you, giving each run a slightly different flavor.
  • Memorable cast: Technical Support is run by a tired demon, Accounting considers humanity a recurring expense, and the only coworker willing to take responsibility is a sentient rubber stamp.

Who It's For

If you enjoy dark humor, workplace satire, or visual novels with a comedic twist, Apocalypse Intern should be on your radar. The game's atmosphere blends anime aesthetics with a dry, funny take on bureaucracy, and its short runtime means you can replay it multiple times to see how your decisions play out.

It's also fully playable without timed input, so you can take your time reading through every line of dialogue—perfect for players who prefer a relaxed pace.
