Overview

Alveron - Withering Roots is a top-down, party-based JRPG developed and published by CupHogGames. Released on October 15, 2026, this single-player adventure invites you to step into the shoes of Valec, a young man pulled from our world into Lyhjem, the magical realm of the Alveri.

The story begins with the World Tree—the cosmic anchor connecting all worlds—and a barrier that is slowly thinning. As Valec, you'll join the priestess Alynna and her bodyguard Rina on their sacred pilgrimage, the Dictum Journey, which is meant to secure the energy flow of the World Tree.

But as you'll soon discover, their task carries far more weight than anyone initially realizes.

Highlights

Classic JRPG Mechanics: Explore a handcrafted 2D world from a top-down perspective, engage in turn-based combat, and build your party as you uncover the mysteries of Lyhjem.
Rich Narrative: The game weaves a tale of nature, magic, and interdimensional balance, with characters who grow as you progress through the pilgrimage.
Full Controller Support: Play comfortably with a gamepad, thanks to complete controller integration, plus Steam Achievements to track your journey.

Who It's For

If you're a fan of classic JRPGs with a focus on story and exploration, Alveron - Withering Roots will feel right at home. The game's emphasis on party dynamics, mystery dungeons, and a fantasy setting inspired by elf-like beings makes it a great pick for players who enjoy titles like early Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger.

The top-down perspective and 2D art style also appeal to those who appreciate retro-inspired visuals with modern polish. Since it's a single-player experience with full controller support, it's perfect for cozy gaming sessions on a couch or handheld.
