CPU browser test v1 (cpu-bench@1) and load check
Measures how many fixed work units per second this browser can run on one Worker and on all Workers. It is a browser test, not a game benchmark.
On phones and tablets heat, battery drain and OS throttling make results unreliable. The load check asks for explicit confirmation there.

How to use
- Close other heavy apps, plug in a laptop, and keep this tab in front (a hidden tab cancels the test).
- Press start. Each of the single-worker and multi-worker modes runs a 0.5 s warm-up and a 1.5 s window, 5 times. The median of the 5 is the result; the spread (CV, min–max) is shown.
- Optionally save the result to a PC, and compare with your earlier runs. The “load check” button is separate: it keeps the CPU busy for 5 minutes by default (max 10) and checks results against known values.
Worked example
Example (illustrative values): single worker 280 units/s, 8 Workers 1,900 units/s, CV 1.2%. The sentence reads “This PC ran 280 units/s in CPU browser test v1 (Chrome 130, Windows, plugged in)”. One unit is one pass of an integer hash loop, a float matrix loop and an LZ-style compression loop.
Limits
- Results are for this browser and OS at this moment (power plan, background load and thermals matter). They are not CPU rankings, game FPS, or a combined score.
- Worker count is navigator.hardwareConcurrency, which browsers may under-report or round. Efficiency/performance cores are not distinguished.
- The kernels are JavaScript typed-array code, so JIT and browser versions change the numbers. The method is version-locked as cpu-bench@1; any change becomes a different version.
- The load check ends with “no computation mismatch was detected within the time” at best. It is not a stability certificate and does not replace a proper stress test.
- Safety: heavy load heats the PC and drains laptop batteries. Stop with the stop button if it gets hot or the fan is loud. Nothing runs automatically or in a hidden tab.
Your inputs and results stay in this browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
