Details

Overview

Spy Drops Gaiden, developed by Dadako and published by Rainy Frog Co. Ltd., is a 2D pixel-art stealth action game that launched on Steam on October 12, 2026.

Set on an island off the coast of Japan, you step into the boots of special agent Ripley, who must infiltrate fortified enemy bases and complete a series of classified missions to neutralize a global threat. The game leans heavily into classic stealth mechanics, rewarding patience and careful observation over brute force.

Highlights

Stealth-First Gameplay: Sneak past guards by staying in shadows, moving slowly to reduce noise, crawling under vehicles, and avoiding surveillance cameras. The game emphasizes tension and timing, making every step count.
Varied Mission Objectives: Beyond simple infiltration, you'll tackle prisoner rescues, gather intel, and even pilot a drone in enemy territory. Each mission offers a different challenge, keeping the gameplay fresh.
Dream Catcher Mechanic: Use the Dream Catcher on knocked-out enemies to extract intel and unlock access to secure facilities. This adds a strategic layer to non-lethal takedowns.
Retro Bonus Games: Two bonus games let you cut loose and mow down waves of enemies, providing a nice contrast to the tense stealth sections.

Who It's For

Spy Drops Gaiden is perfect for fans of classic stealth titles like Metal Gear and Splinter Cell, but with a retro 2D pixel-art aesthetic. If you enjoy methodical gameplay, outsmarting AI guards, and exploring enemy bases solo while vastly outnumbered, this game will scratch that itch.

The female protagonist and military setting add to the appeal, and the full controller support makes it a great couch experience.
