Overview

The Gigabyte GC-Titan Ridge 2.0 is a PCIe add-in card that brings Thunderbolt 3 (40Gbps) to your desktop PC. Powered by the Intel Titan Ridge controller, it offers two Thunderbolt 3 ports with DisplayPort input support for video output. The USB-C shaped connectors allow you to connect Thunderbolt 3 devices, USB-C displays, and high-speed storage with ease.

Key Features

  • Two Thunderbolt 3 ports (40Gbps each)
  • Dual DisplayPort 1.4 inputs for video output (up to two 4K60Hz or one 5K display)
  • PCIe 3.0 x4 interface (works in x4, x8, or x16 slots)
  • Daisy-chain support for up to six Thunderbolt devices
  • No external power required (powered entirely by the PCIe slot)

Compatibility Guide

  • Form factors: ATX, Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX (requires a free PCIe x4 or larger slot)
  • PCIe version: PCIe 3.0 or later (x4 or higher recommended)
  • OS support: Windows 10/11 (Thunderbolt driver installation required)
  • Note: A motherboard Thunderbolt header is not required, but some boards need BIOS settings to enable Thunderbolt
  • For video output, you must connect a DisplayPort cable from your graphics card to the card's DP input

Ideal Use Cases

  • Connecting Thunderbolt 3 external SSDs or docks at full speed
  • Bringing Thunderbolt 3 capability to a desktop that lacks it
  • Driving multiple 4K monitors via Thunderbolt
  • Creators needing 40Gbps bandwidth for video editing or large file transfers

Installation Tips

  • Ensure you have a free PCIe slot with at least x4 lanes (x1 slots won't work)
  • Check physical clearance with your graphics card (low-profile bracket not included)
  • Thunderbolt 3 cables are sold separately
  • If the card isn't detected, enable "Thunderbolt Support" in your motherboard BIOS
