Beyond The Diorama: Caribou World is a unique, free-to-play interactive XR experience developed by USC students. Funded by the USC Wicked Problems Practicum and created in partnership with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, this project utilizes emerging technology to shed light on the critical threat climate change poses to caribou and their fragile habitats. Supervised by Professors Robert Hernandez (JOVRNALISM) and Vangelis Lympouridis (USC Games), a diverse team of students from engineering, journalism, and game design collaborated to bring this important environmental message to life.
