Overview

The ASUS USB 3.2 Gen 2 PCIe Card adds two USB-C ports to your desktop PC, each capable of 10Gbps transfer speeds. Using a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface, it delivers enough bandwidth for high-speed external SSDs, docking stations, and other peripherals. The standard bracket fits most ATX, Micro-ATX, and ITX cases, and a low-profile bracket is included for smaller builds.

Key Features

  • Two USB-C (USB 3.2 Gen 2) ports with independent 10Gbps bandwidth per port
  • PCIe 3.0 x4 connection supporting up to 20Gbps aggregate throughput
  • ASMedia ASM3142 controller for reliable performance and broad compatibility
  • Includes low-profile bracket for use in compact cases
  • Hot-plug capable for easy device swapping

Compatibility Guide

This card requires a PCIe 3.0 x4 or higher slot. It will work in PCIe 2.0 x4 slots but speeds will be limited (around 5Gbps). Enabling "Above 4G Decoding" in BIOS may improve stability. Supported OS: Windows 10/11, Linux (kernel 5.0+). Not compatible with macOS.

Ideal Use Cases

  • Pairing with an external NVMe SSD for maximum transfer speeds
  • Adding USB-C ports to a desktop that lacks them on the rear I/O
  • Using a laptop docking station with a desktop PC
  • Frequent large file transfers, video editing, or backup workflows

Upgrade Considerations

Be mindful of PCIe slot placement: inserting this card next to a GPU may restrict airflow. Check your motherboard manual to confirm which slot provides the best lane configuration. The card draws minimal power, so no PSU upgrade is needed.
