Overview
The ASUS ROG RYUJIN III 360 ARGB is a premium 360mm all-in-one (AIO) liquid CPU cooler designed for high-end processors. Its standout feature is the 3.5-inch LCD display on the pump head, which can show real-time system stats (CPU temperature, clock speed, fan RPM) or custom images and animations. This makes it a perfect centerpiece for a showcase PC.
Cooling performance is top-notch thanks to a 38mm thick radiator and three 120mm ARGB fans (ROG MF-12S). The 7th-generation Asetek pump delivers quiet and efficient operation, easily handling Intel Core i9 and AMD Ryzen 9 series CPUs even under sustained loads.
Key Features
- 3.5-inch LCD Display: Customizable via ASUS Armoury Crate software. Display CPU temperature, frequency, fan speed, or upload your own images and GIFs.
- 7th-Gen Asetek Pump: Variable speed from 800 to 3600 RPM for optimal balance of noise and cooling.
- 38mm Thick Radiator: Increased surface area for better heat dissipation compared to standard 27mm radiators.
- ROG MF-12S ARGB Fans: Static pressure 3.0 mmH2O, airflow 70 CFM, PWM controlled from 800 to 2200 RPM.
- Aura Sync RGB: Fully compatible with ASUS Aura Sync for synchronized lighting across ROG components.
Compatibility Guide
- Socket Support: Intel LGA1700 / LGA1200 / LGA115x, AMD AM5 / AM4. Works with Intel Core Ultra (Arrow Lake) and AMD Ryzen 9000 series.
- Case Clearance: Requires a case that supports a 360mm radiator. Radiator dimensions: 394 x 120 x 38 mm. The extra thickness (38mm) means you need adequate clearance in the mounting area. Total thickness with fans is approximately 88mm (38mm radiator + 25mm fan x 2).
- Memory Clearance: The pump head is not low-profile, but it can be rotated to avoid tall RAM heatsinks. In most ATX builds, interference is minimal.
- Power Connections: Pump uses SATA power and a 4-pin PWM fan header. Fans use 4-pin PWM. Ensure your motherboard has enough headers.
Ideal Builds
- High-End Gaming Rigs: Perfect for Intel Core i9-14900K or AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, where sustained cooling is critical. The LCD display lets you monitor temperatures without third-party tools.
- Creator Workstations: Video editing, 3D rendering, and other CPU-intensive tasks benefit from the cooler's ability to maintain low temperatures under prolonged loads.
- RGB-Focused Builds: Combine with other ROG products (motherboard, GPU, RAM) for a fully synchronized Aura Sync lighting setup.
Upgrade Considerations
- Check Case Radiator Clearance: The 38mm thickness is not standard. Measure your case's radiator mounting area to ensure the radiator + fans fit without hitting the motherboard VRM heatsink or top panel.
- Tube Routing: Plan the tube path carefully. If mounting the radiator at the top, tubes should not obstruct the CPU area or touch the GPU backplate.
- No Bottleneck Concerns: A liquid cooler does not create a performance bottleneck. However, insufficient cooling for a high-TDP CPU will cause thermal throttling. For Core i9/Ryzen 9, a 360mm AIO is recommended.
- PSU Impact: The cooler itself draws negligible power (~10W). For a high-end CPU + GPU system, a PSU of 850W or higher is still advisable, but the cooler does not affect that requirement.
