Overview
The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C is a wireless game controller designed specifically for Windows PC and Android devices. Its standout feature is a 1000Hz polling rate over 2.4G and wired connections — far exceeding typical console controllers that operate at 125–500Hz. This translates to noticeably lower input lag and snappier response in fast-paced games. Equally impressive are the Hall Effect joysticks and triggers. Instead of physical contacts that wear down over time, these use magnetic sensors to detect position, offering theoretically infinite lifespan and consistent precision. The controller also includes extra back buttons (R4/L4), on-the-fly button remapping without software, and a turbo function. The Peach variant adds a soft pink aesthetic that stands out on any desk.
The Ultimate 2C supports three connection modes with clear platform compatibility: 2.4G Wireless: Uses the included USB receiver. Works with Windows 10/11 and delivers full 1000Hz polling. Wired USB: Connect via USB-C for a zero-latency link on Windows. Also supports 1000Hz. * Bluetooth: Designed for Android 9.0+ devices. Polling rate drops to standard ~125Hz, but the convenience of wireless without a dongle is a plus. A dedicated mode switch on the controller lets you toggle between Windows (2.4G/wired) and Android (Bluetooth) instantly. This makes it easy to move between a PC and a tablet or phone without re-pairing.
Released on January 20, 2025, the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C sits firmly in the entry-to-mid-range market.Check the retailer's page for the latest price. The package includes the controller, a USB receiver, a USB-C charging cable, and a manual. The built-in lithium polymer battery provides several hours of gameplay per charge (exact capacity not specified by the manufacturer, but typical use yields 10–20 hours).
Competitive PC Gamers (FPS, Rhythm, Fighting) The 1000Hz polling rate is the main draw for competitive players. In games like Apex Legends, Valorant, or osu!, every millisecond of input delay matters. Combined with Hall Effect sticks that resist drift and wear, this controller offers longevity that traditional potentiometer-based pads can't match. Android Gamers and Cloud Streaming Enthusiasts If you frequently play on your phone or tablet via cloud gaming (GeForce NOW, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Steam Link), the Ultimate 2C pairs easily over Bluetooth. Its light weight (~100g) makes it easy to carry around, and the tactile face buttons feel far better than on-screen controls. If you want a reliable, no-nonsense gamepad that won't break the bank, the Ultimate 2C is a stellar choice.
