Overview

The Wooting 60HE is a 60% gaming keyboard from the Dutch company Wooting, renowned for its Lekker magnetic switches. Unlike standard mechanical switches, these hall-effect switches offer adjustable actuation points (0.1mm–4.0mm) per key, enabling unprecedented control. With features like Dynamic Keystroke (DKS) and Rapid Trigger, you can perform actions based on how deep you press a key—ideal for games that demand precise, split-second inputs.

Key Features

  • Adjustable actuation point – Set each key from 0.1mm to 4.0mm. Shallow for lightning-fast response, deep to prevent accidental presses.
  • Analog input (DKS / Tachyon Mode) – Map multiple actions to a single key depending on press depth (e.g., walk with light press, run with deep press). Rapid Trigger eliminates chatter and allows instant re-presses.
  • Compact 60% layout – Saves desk space, giving your mouse more room to move. Perfect for low-sensitivity gamers.
  • PBT keycaps & hot-swap sockets – Durable PBT keycaps come pre-installed, and the Lekker switches are hot-swappable (only magnetic switches supported).
  • Fully programmable with onboard memory – Use the Wooting Configurator (Windows) to remap keys, adjust actuation, and customize RGB. Settings save to the keyboard itself.

Compatibility Guide

  • Connection – Wired USB-C only (no wireless). Works with any PC that has a USB-A port (use the included cable or any USB-C cable).
  • Operating systems – Windows, macOS, Linux. Note: advanced features (DKS, Rapid Trigger) require the Windows Configurator app for initial setup. Once configured, settings persist on any OS.
  • Keycap compatibility – Standard Cherry MX-compatible keycaps fit, but the spacebar (6.25U) and right shift (1.75U) are non-standard. Check keycap sets for compatibility.
  • Cable – Detachable USB-C cable; any USB 2.0+ cable works.

Best Use Cases

  • Competitive FPS players (Valorant, CS2, Apex) – Rapid Trigger improves counter-strafing and tapping. Shallow actuation helps with quick peeks.
  • Minimalist setup enthusiasts – The 60% footprint leaves maximum space for mouse movement and a clean desk.
  • Gamers curious about analog controls – Ideal for experimenting with pressure-sensitive inputs in racing games, RTS, or even productivity macros.

Upgrade Considerations

  • Switch replacement limits – Only magnetic Lekker switches (like the L60 or L45) are compatible. Standard MX mechanical switches cannot be used.
  • Wired only – No Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless. The trade-off is zero wireless latency and no batteries to charge.
  • Keycap sourcing – Due to the unusual right shift and spacebar sizes, aftermarket keycap sets may not cover all keys. Plan to keep the stock keycaps or buy a set specifically designed for the Wooting 60HE.
  • Learning curve – Analog features take time to master. Start with conservative actuation settings and gradually adjust via the Configurator to find your sweet spot.
