Overview
Step into the sandals of a Roman legionnaire in "Rome: Nightmares of Empire," an action RPG that blends charming pixel graphics with intriguing mechanics. Set in the year 70 AD, the game plunges players into the tumultuous province of Judea, where the mighty Roman Empire is engaged in a fierce war against rebels. The narrative kicks off shortly after the capture of Jerusalem by the legions, led by Titus Flavius, the emperor's son. As the tide of war turns, your character, a seasoned legionnaire, is dispatched towards the fortress of Machaeron, a stronghold of the uprising.
However, your march is unexpectedly halted by a surreal encounter. You come face-to-face with a higher-ranking soldier, clad in Roman armor, who bears an uncanny resemblance to the infamous Cestius Gallus.
This is particularly unsettling as Gallus was reportedly defeated and killed at the war's outset. His presence, seemingly risen from the dead, hints at darker, more mysterious forces at play beyond the conventional battlefield.
