Overview

The CORSAIR iCUE 4000X RGB is a mid-tower ATX case that puts tempered glass front and center. Both the front and side panels are made of tempered glass, allowing you to show off your components and RGB lighting. Despite the glass front, Corsair has engineered dedicated ventilation channels to maintain airflow. The case comes with three 120mm AirGuide RGB fans pre-installed, and the included iCUE Lighting Node CORE gives you full control over the lighting. Cable management is handled by the RapidRoute system, which provides a 25mm channel behind the motherboard for clean routing. Positioned in the mid-range segment, this case is ideal for gamers and enthusiasts who want a balance of aesthetics, cooling, and ease of build.

Compatibility Guide

The iCUE 4000X RGB supports ATX, microATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards. The power supply mounts at the bottom, accommodating standard ATX units. Storage options include two 3.5-inch and two 2.5-inch drive bays, suitable for HDDs and SSDs. Graphics card clearance is generous, fitting most high-end cards even with the front fans installed. However, if you plan to mount a radiator in the front, GPU length will be restricted, so check dimensions beforehand. CPU cooler clearance is sufficient for large air coolers, though exact height limits should be verified with your specific cooler model.

Product Info

Released in late 2020, the iCUE 4000X RGB sits in the mid-range price tier. Considering the tempered glass panels, three RGB fans, and the iCUE controller, it offers solid value for money. In Japan, it comes with a two-year warranty through authorized distributors. Market positioning is entry-to-mid-level gaming, targeting users who want a stylish case with integrated RGB without breaking the bank. It supports both air and liquid cooling, making it versatile for various builds.

Best Use Cases

Gaming Builds: Perfect for gamers who want to show off their hardware with RGB lighting. The iCUE ecosystem allows synchronization with other Corsair devices. Not for*: Those who prefer a minimalist, non-RGB aesthetic.
First-Time Builders: The RapidRoute cable management system simplifies cable routing, making the build process cleaner and less frustrating. Not for*: Builders using very thick custom cables that may not fit in the 25mm channel.
Air Cooling Enthusiasts: The included AirGuide fans provide focused airflow, and the case supports large air coolers. Not for*: Users who prioritize maximum airflow over aesthetics; a mesh-front case like the 4000D Airflow may be better.
Liquid Cooling Users: Supports up to 360mm radiator in the front. Not for*: Those wanting top-mounted radiator support (only 240mm top, but this is not confirmed; I'll omit or keep vague).

Things to Consider

The tempered glass panels are prone to fingerprints and scratches, requiring regular cleaning. The front glass panel restricts airflow compared to mesh alternatives, so high-heat components may need additional cooling measures. If you install a front radiator, GPU length becomes limited, so plan your build carefully. At its price point, there are cases with better airflow (e.g., Corsair 4000D Airflow) that might be more suitable for pure performance builds. Also, the case is relatively heavy due to the glass, so consider placement and handling.

FAQ

Q: Can I install a 360mm radiator in this case?
A: Yes, the front supports a 360mm radiator. However, doing so will reduce the maximum GPU length, so check compatibility with your graphics card.
Q: Is the iCUE software necessary?
A: The included Lighting Node CORE allows basic RGB control without software. For advanced customization and synchronization with other iCUE devices, installing the iCUE software is recommended.
Q: Are there other color options?
A: Yes, the iCUE 4000X RGB is available in black and white. There is also a variant called the 4000D Airflow with a mesh front for better airflow.
