## Overview
The 8BitDo Retro 108 Mechanical Keyboard brings a classic console-inspired look to your desktop, blending retro aesthetics with modern features. It's a full-size 108-key layout with an integrated numpad, available in multiple color variants (N Edition shown here). Connectivity options include Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless via USB receiver, and USB-C wired, making it versatile across Windows 10/11 and Android devices. At its heart are Kailh Box White V2 switches, offering a crisp clicky feel with good tactile feedback. The keycaps are dye-sub PBT with an MDA-like profile, ensuring durability and long-lasting legends. The PCB is hot-swappable, allowing you to replace switches without soldering—a rare feature at this price point.
This keyboard works with Windows 10 (1903+) and Android 9.0+ devices. It supports three connection modes: Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4GHz (low-latency wireless), and USB-C wired. The wired mode also charges the built-in battery. It features full N-key rollover, so every keypress registers accurately even during rapid sequences. The hot-swappable PCB accepts Kailh-compatible 3-pin or 5-pin switches, giving you freedom to customize the feel.
Check the retailer's page for the latest price. It's sold primarily through Japan and other online retailers. The package includes a USB-C cable, USB receiver, and quick-start guide. The market position is unique: it combines a nostalgic design with genuine mechanical features like hot-swap and programmability, appealing to both retro enthusiasts and keyboard hobbyists.
Retro gaming fans and collectors will appreciate the aesthetic, especially if they already own 8BitDo controllers. It's a perfect match for a themed desktop setup. Typists who enjoy clicky switches will find the Kailh Box White V2 satisfying for long writing sessions. The PBT keycaps resist shine, keeping the keyboard looking new. Casual gamers: the keyboard works well for RPGs, strategy, and adventure games. The 2.4GHz connection offers low latency, and the full numpad is handy for games that use many keys. Keyboard enthusiasts on a budget: hot-swap capability lets you experiment with different switches without buying a new board. However, the non-standard keycap profile may limit aftermarket keycap compatibility.
